So I'm not really a regular catholic saint guy, but I do know a little about St. Anthony. as someone who loses things quite a lot, his position as patron saint of lost things is appealing to me. I have a small statue of him that I got out of a coat pocket at the thrift store I used to work at, and sometimes when I'm trying to find something I'll ask it for help. I was never really sure he was out there helping me, until this past weekend.
So I went golfing with my dad and some other members of my family for fathers day, and at one point I realized that I didn't know where my phone was. I'd dropped it somewhere on the course, and not only did I not have service out where we were but my phone has a green case, and as I started re-tracing my steps with the golf cart I'd been driving around all day I basically instantly gave up hope because it seemed impossible that I'd find it. I started appealing to St. Anthony while looking, saying I'd look up his favourite offerings when I got home and made sure I gave him thanks if he helped me find it.
By some miracle I managed to see my phone in the grass. Seriously it feels like it was a blessing and I really gotta give thanks to St. Anthony. I really feel like he came through for me this time. I'm not Catholic, and I don't really forsee myself working with more saints (though never say never!) but as someone with strong Irish heritage I know a lot of my ancestors probably were very catholic, and I'm trying to open more communication with them right now as well, so maybe one of them put in a good word with St. Anthony for me. Whatever it was, I'm so very grateful that I don't have to spend a few hundred bucks on a new phone right now. So praise and thanks to my spirit guides and St. Anthony!
